Located in Knoxville, Tennessee, Axle Logistics is a non-asset based, logistics company with a focus on providing safe, reliable, and advanced services to a wide variety of customers throughout North America. For its brand-new headquarters, the team at Axle Logistics envisioned a space that would accommodate their growing business while creating a vibrant and collaborative environment for their employees and clients.

With Crestron, Axle has been able to implement user-friendly content distribution and conferencing technologies for their employees. Implementing Crestron technology has enabled Axle Logistics to continue their cutting-edge approach to logistics while continuing their commitment to provide personalized customer service.

Axle offers its customers the finest services and consultation in the movement of materials with a technologically driven, solutions-based approach to third-party logistics that is unmatched in the industry.

THE CHALLENGE

For its brand-new headquarters, Axle Logistics’ co-owners, Drew Johnson and Jon Clay, envisioned a space that would accommodate their growing business while creating a vibrant and collaborative environment for their employees and clients.

THE SOLUTION

Johnson and Clay, along with their team, worked with the AV integration firm Prince Technologies to implement user-friendly content distribution and conferencing technologies for their employees. Crestron was selected to deliver advanced and sophisticated solutions for these new spaces.

THE TECHNOLOGY

DM NVX® AV-over-IP technology was the clear-cut solution for video flexibility and expandability in Axle Logistics’ growing office. In their previous location, Axle did not have any type of content distribution technology. With more than fifty DM NVX systems throughout the new space, their teams can now flawlessly distribute content instantly and securely.

Axle’s open office floorplan provides employees with unobstructed views of news and current events on the displays. This enables employees to prepare for anything that may affect the transportation of freight out of affected areas. In addition, displays around the office show internal information regarding leads on new customers, telemarketing, revenue load counts, and anything that can drive improvements on either a monthly or a daily basis.

In the lobby, two video walls comprised of nine 55-inch televisions creates a “wow” factor for clients and employees. These video walls and the rest of Axle’s AV displays can be easily controlled by any employee conveniently through an iPad® device or computer. Crestron touch screens provide a simple user interface for control of audio and video distribution within conference rooms, workspaces, and the company gym.

Axle’s seven conference rooms each have a Crestron Flex Sound bar for conferencing and a DM Lite® transmitter/receiver for sharing content. “Crestron Flex Sound bars are clean, simple, and just work,” said Prince. Crestron Flex Sound bars provide an all-in-one audio and video solution for both clients and employees without a bunch of wires that complicate the experience.

Outside each conference room is a Crestron Flex Scheduling Panel enabling employees to determine whether a room is occupied or available with just a glance down the hallway. This empowers employees to simply walk up to a room and reserve it on the spot with one tap on the screen. They also have the option to book meetings in advance from their desks using Microsoft® Office 365® software.

RESULTS

Implementing Crestron technology has enabled Axle Logistics to continue their cutting-edge approach to logistics while continuing their commitment to provide personalized customer service.

"Our transition to Crestron technology been seamless," said Vanoye. "Now our team can pre plan their meetings with ease and feel prepared knowing a space in our HQ has been reserved.” With Crestron, Axle now offers an exciting and engaging workplace for their employees as they take on the challenge of providing better logistic services.
